I'm an IT graduate from Nepal with a working background in secure backend development and network operations, applying to MS programs in cybersecurity. My interests sit in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, API security and intrusion detection — and I like building the thing before I write about it.
01About
Background
I studied Computer Science and Information Technology at Tribhuvan University, and since graduating I've worked in IT and backend development roles that kept bringing me back to the same question: how do you build systems that hold up under someone actively trying to break them. That question is what's pulling me toward a Master's in cybersecurity.
Day to day, that's meant applying OWASP practices to Django applications, securing authentication and session handling, and working hands-on with the networking and system-administration side of IT — switches, PoE deployments, access control. I'm particularly drawn to vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, API security and intrusion detection, and I'm looking for a program that lets me go deep on the offensive and defensive sides of that work rather than staying at the applied-developer level.
